Rail Freight survey

AUTF (French Shippers' Council) are actively looking for volunteers to be interviewed / surveyed on matters relating to rail freight. French shippers are already being identified to take part, but now the search is on for shippers from outside France who are able and willing to participate.The results of the survey will be presented at the SITL 3rd European Rail Freight Days in Paris-Villepinte, 28-29 March.The event is hosted within the popular International Week for Transport and Logistics exhibition (see website : http://www.sitl.eu/site/GB) at which ESC often takes part; this year, the ESC General Assembly meeting is taking place at the SITL Paris-Villepinte venue on the 26th March.

The AUTF is a partner of the SITL Paris event. Eurogroup Consulting is preparing the agenda of the 3rd European Rail Freight Days and will carry out the study in advance on the theme "Rail Freight, a promising and competitive transport mode for Europe. The key objective will be to identify "how can Rail Freight clients (shippers, freight forwarders) play a role in the rebirth of this transport mode, or adapt to it?".

We are asking for your help to identify circa 10 European (non-French!) shippers, who are rail freight clients and who would be willing to share their experience in an interview with Eurogroup's consultants.
The interviews would address the following issues:
• Transport needs of the shipper
• Transport choice criteria
• Assessment of existing rail freight offers (destinations, price, service level, reliability...)
• Evolution of the "transport value chain"
• Recommendations for a more competitive Rail Freight

The interviews must be carried out before end of January; therefore the contacts should be identified as soon as possible.
